One Minute AI Film Festival
One minute. One idea. A new era of storytelling.
The One Minute AI Film Festival invites creators across Aotearoa to respond to a simple prompt. Tell a story in one minute, using AI as part of your creative, filming, editing, or storytelling process.
Selected films will be showcased at the AI and Creativity Summit in May 2026, with finalists and winners recognised at the Summit. Finalists and winners will also be celebrated at the Aotearoa AI Summit in September 2026.
Who can enter?
This festival is for students, aspiring filmmakers, emerging creators, and anyone curious about what AI can add to storytelling when used with intention. If you have got something to say, we want to see it.
Key dates
- March 2026: Competition opens (approx. 4 weeks)
- April 2026: Competition closes and judging begins
- May 2026: Finalists announced during the Summit showcase
- September 2026: Winners announced and celebrated at Aotearoa AI Summit
